Coaching
Chess coaching is our core business here at IQ Chess. We're here to help anyone,
especially children, systematically improve their chess and gain the associated
educational benefits of chess as they progress.
We offer private lessons for 1 to 3 people, group lessons, and
chess at schools as part of
our coaching repertoire. Get in touch if you're interested in having one-off
or regular sessions with us!
Our Coaches
Currently, all of IQ Chess Far North Queensland's coaching is done by the business owner,
David Cowland-Cooper. A chess player since he was eight years old, David is a
strong player with a long history of involvement in the chess community since
high school. He has also spent several years as an English teacher in Japan,
gaining lots of experience in classroom teaching. His chess and teaching
skills are a great combination for a chess coach, and he's looking forward to taking
chess to the next level here in the Far North!
